Sixth annual conference supports female advancement to leadership positions in business
Whistler, B.C. (September 17, 2019): This spring, women from around the world will convene in Whistler for the 2020 WNORTH Conference, an annual event that provides business professionals with the crucial skills required to ascend to senior executive leadership. Centred on the theme “Cultivating Legacy”, the conference – sponsored by PwC, Nita Lake Lodge, and Tourism Whistler – will feature presentations by business powerhouses like Shelley Zalis, CEO of The Female Quotient; Rola Dagher, president of Cisco Canada; and Esther Wojcicki, educator and author of How to Raise Successful People.
WNORTH represents a global community of women whose sights are set on the C Suite. The organization’s boutique conference, held annually in Whistler, hosts 170 high-potential female leaders from corporate, public and entrepreneurial sectors, who engage in three days of leadership training, networking and discourse with inspiring business leaders. The upcoming event will take place April 15 to 17, 2020 at Nita Lake Lodge.
Headlining the 2020 WNORTH Conference are powerful women such as Shelley Zalis, CEO of the Female Quotient, who is lauded as a pioneer for online research, a champion of gender equality, and a movement leader; Rola Dagher, president of Cisco Canada, who has transformed her division into the company’s top globally performing region; and Esther Wojcicki, educator and author of How to Raise Successful People, who is also the founder of Palo Alto High Media Arts Program, Journalistic Learning Initiative and Global Moonshots in Education. Women attending the 2020 WNORTH Conference can look forward to a wellness welcome event; a West Coast-inspired networking lunch; preferred rates at award-winning Nita Lake Lodge, access to Connect Dinners with Speakers and more. Attendees are encouraged to join The Members’ Club, WNORTH’s exclusive global network connecting ambitious and driven leaders through six city chapters; the club provides opportunities for in-person and online connection, as well as professional development and unparalleled networking experiences throughout the year.
“According to statistics, it will take over 200 years to achieve gender parity in the workplace – but who wants to wait that long?” says Shelley Zalis. “It’s time to stop admiring the problem and start activating solutions for change. That’s why I’m so delighted to join the WNORTH Conference, to bring more visibility to women making a difference and helping the best rise to the top. Together, we can transform equality from an ideal into a reality.”
“Women ascending to positions of leadership think a lot about legacy – specifically, how others are affected by products they build, services they offer and changes they make. This is why we chose ‘Cultivating Legacy’ as a central theme to explore during the 2020 conference,” says Heather Odendaal, Co-Founder and CEO of WNORTH. “Though our overarching goal is to help women develop the skills required to reach senior leadership roles, we are also committed to identifying – and overcoming – systemic barriers that prevent more of us from reaching these positions. We are so excited to share insights, learn from industry leaders, and connect with women from around the world about these issues next spring.”
The 2020 WNORTH Conference takes place April 15 to 17, 2020 at Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler, B.C. Early-bird tickets for members cost $799, and are available until January 31, 2020; non-members will pay $999. Conference passes can also be bundled with annual membership for $1,199.
