Emma Whalley-Hands

Emma is a Director in PwC’s Deals practice in Toronto with a particular focus on Value Creation for her corporate and private equity clients. She has over 12 years advisory and deals experience at PwC with a focus on operational enhancement and EBITDA improvement. She moved over from PwC UK in February 2018 to build capability in Canada, and leads a growing team of deep operational improvement experts in the GTA.
Emma works with clients to quickly understand their operations profile and identify improvement initiatives. She has provided a wide range of advisory services to businesses in inefficient or underperforming financial and operational situations.
She has wide-ranging cross industry operations experience including in Fortune 500 businesses and mid-market private companies. She has been at the helm of a number of operations and cost improvement programs in the European market across several industries including the UK National Health Service, logistics and distribution, oil and gas, financial services and insurance.
Her previous experience as a serving Officer in the British Army brings to her work a different insight to teams and ways of working and has helped particularly with her interactions with clients through complex transformational change and cost reduction challenges.
At home, Emma is a proud wife to Kate and mother to their three-year-old girl and gorgeous dog Oskar. They are privileged to travel extensively as a family and spend a lot of their spare time visiting and eating their way around new locations in the world. Emma is a keen sportswoman and happiest outdoors. She is a big supporter of mental health awareness (having struggled with her own anxiety), the LGBTQ community globally and living as authentically as she can so she’s present and visible to others
