Jacy is an accomplished senior litigator and has been a partner at McQuarrie Hunter LLP for the past 15 years.
Jacy brings the warmth of the Caribbean, where she spent her formative years as a child and young lawyer in Trinidad and Tobago, to the rigours of the practice of law. Jacy finds it fulfilling to help clients, in situations that at first glance, seem insurmountable. Her practice is now focused on the area of estate and trust litigation in which she brings a team-oriented, solutions-based, practical approach to solving her clients’ legal issues. Jacy has represented her clients at all levels of Court including the British Columbia Court of Appeal which is the province’s highest court. Jacy credits her enthusiasm for the practice of law with the thrill of being able to, through persistence, tenacity and attention to detail, peel away the layers to arrive at a just resolution of her clients’ often complex cases.
Alongside the practice of law, Jacy has presented for various groups including: the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC and the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers. Jacy also has a passion for contributing to the communities in which she studies, works and lives holding leadership positions which include: Past Chair and Board member of the Surrey Hospital & Outpatient Centre Foundation and Chair of the Jane Rowan Society dba Little Flower Academy.
Jacy is grateful for the unwavering support of her grandmother, husband and four daughters who keep her grounded in the realities of day-to-day living, and who bring her immeasurable pride and joy.
