Join us for our November workshop on Leveraging Empathy To Build High-Performance Teams with Erin Thorp!
Empathy is a workplace value, yet empathy is the competitive edge most leaders are missing. Empathy is the ability to connect with your workforce — emotionally, cognitively, and behaviorally — without trying to fix, blame or minimize anyone’s experience. Individuals, teams, and workplace cultures value empathy, leaders’ demonstrated skills are not measuring up.
Leadership demands empathy in a variety of situations and we must practice it when emotions are high, pressure is mounting, and stress is palpable. It’s in these very moments that our abilities determine our impact as a leader.
Participants will discover:
- What empathy is and is not
- Key empathy skills for success
- When empathy goes sideways
- An empathy toolkit for immediate implementation
Meet Erin Thorp (she/her) — an empathic keynote speaker, writer, and coach for leaders who struggle with conflict, communication, and performance during high-stress times. She supports leaders in navigating difficult conversations, building powerful teams, and communicating with empathy so they can lead confidently.
Having spent 20 years in the masculine-dominated engineering and construction industries leading teams and delivering projects, Erin had taken notice that her colleagues were highly skilled and cared deeply about their work, but most were incapable of fully holding their own emotion and therefore unable to hold the emotions of others.
