Christina Hatziioannou

Christina’s career has been focused on developing strategies that disrupt, innovate, and change Canada’s traditional retail banking model.

In 2008 Christina joined CIBC and has held multiple leadership roles across the bank. As the head of CIBC’s Digital Strategy & Innovation Lab she led a team of over 50 and developed strategies which transformed the way clients interact with their bank. This was evident through Christina’s work on modernizing CIBC’s mass affluent offering and driving the mobile banking app strategy. This app has been recognized as Canada’s #1 rated app for multiple years.

At Google, Christina is a trusted adviser to C-suite executives of large financial institutions across North America where she offers support in developing and executing strategies that drive revenue growth.  She has expertise in developing digital sales and marketing technology roadmaps as well as experience in building breakthrough brands through leveraging the right technology, marketing mix & organizational structure.

Christina was awarded the honour of being selected as one of WXN’s 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada. This award recognizes the accomplishments of strong female leaders. Christina was also recognized as one of Canada’s Top 50 Women in FinTech by Digital Finance Institute.  She earned an Executive MBA from Western’s Richard Ivey School of Business and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s Smith School of Business.  She is also the recipient of Google’s Gold Award – Google’s highest level of recognition.  Christina is frequently invited to speak as a keynote speaker at industry conferences across North America.
