Kim Mason

Senior Vice President & Head, Private Banking Canada at RBC Wealth Management

Kim Mason is Senior Vice President and Head of RBC Private Banking which provides high-net-worth individuals, families and family offices with comprehensive strategies and solutions for their wealth management needs. In her role, she is responsible for leading the business, driving growth in the market, and enabling the Private Banking team to deliver trusted advice, tailored solutions and personalized service.

Since joining RBC in 1986, Mason has held a wide variety of increasingly responsible Regional and National Office positions, including Senior Vice President, Personal & Commercial Banking – Operations,
Regional President for Atlantic Canada and Greater Toronto, and roles in Retail and Commercial Banking, Global Payments and Trade, as well as executive responsibilities in Contact Centres and Group Risk Management. Prior to assuming her current role, she was Senior Vice President Business Distribution, Strategy and Performance.

Mason completed her MBA at Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and received her Honours BA from the University of Western Ontario. In June of 2014, she obtained her ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD). During her career at RBC, Mason has been recognized as a Top 50 Atlantic CEO for 2012, 2013 and 2014, and was named one of Canada’s Top 25 Women of Influence for 2013 by Women of Influence Magazine. She has also been recognized as one of WXN Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women for 2014. Mason was awarded the Rotman Top 10 WIMA (Women in Management Association) Award in 2015.

A believer in community, Mason co-chaired the United Way of Metro Halifax’s 2012-13 campaign and remains and active volunteer with UW today. She has served on the board of directors for Mount Saint Vincent University and the Greater Halifax Partnership. She has held both director and chair roles on hospital and health care boards for more than 17 years and is currently on the board of the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation. Mason is also a Director on Toronto Finance International, (TFI), the University of Western Ontario’s School for Advanced Studies in the Arts and Humanities Advisory Council (SASAH), as well as being a member of Young President’s Organization (YPO).

Born and raised in Milton, Mason currently resides in Oakville with her husband and three children.
