Miranda Lam

Founder & CEO, Think Capital

Miranda’s passion is facilitating loving and  impactful conversations within families – especially around tough topics, like money. For Miranda, Dojo is the way to use financial learning to help bring families together. Miranda is the COO of Dojo Technology, where Dojo nurtures the growth of teens and kids by better teaching them about money from a young age.

Previously, she served as the Director of Finance at Vancouver tech darling and giant, Hootsuite Media Inc.

At Dojo, Miranda has been successfully raising meaningful dollars of equity investment. She also actively looks at non-dilutive measures of raising money through government and privately sponsored grants. She is currently leading a round of fundraising and seeking seed investment, putting her in front of investors, shareholders and other stakeholders that can play an important part in helping to drive Dojo’s business forward. Miranda understands that engaging investors is key and following through in execution is critical. She and her leadership team practice the core principle of “Be quick, but don’t hurry” as it relates to running the business.

At Hootsuite, Miranda was one of the instrumental leaders who led the charge on successfully raising $165 Million in Series B funding and subsequently an additional $60 Million in equity and debt raising. In addition, Miranda participated in Hootsuite’s acquisition, integration and go-to-market strategies. This is where she continued to expand her creativity and interests in B2B and B2C marketing strategy, corporate and product development, equity fundraising and investor relations.

At a young age, Miranda’s parents instilled money management education and practices as core pillars in the Lam family. She is grateful for the opportunities, education and heart that her parents have raised her with and is compelled to pass on this same heart and knowledge to the next generation of young adults, teens and children with Dojo.
